We're seeking a Managing Director, Community Banking leader, to serve and grow a team of community bankers and community banking staff. This leader has responsibility for people growth, resulting in revenue growth and profitability.

Responsibilities and Duties:



  • This leader will direct all activities of Community Banking (generally companies with revenues of $5 - $25 million in the Texas market) to expand loans, deposits, and fee income for the Bank.
  • This leader will be directly engaged in the ongoing development, implementation, and execution of the strategy for Community Banking.
  • This leader will be involved in all aspects of talent management including the recruitment, coaching, and retention of all team members
  • This leader will ensure the appropriate cross-sell of the bank's products and services through effective partnership with key product, credit and/or corporate and community banking partners.
  • This leader will ensure the client/deal team wins new relationships by delivering thoughtful and appropriate client solutions and optimizing client fee and revenue opportunities for Veritex Bank.
  • This leader will assist team members with complex account relationships and guide less-experienced members of the team to their next-level of growth
  • This leader will direct deal efforts for the team, guide them to achieve team performance and revenue goals, monitor and reinforce the building of strong partnerships between team members and other Lines of Business.
  • This leader will facilitate the flow and generation of referrals and leads to and from other Lines of Business at Veritex
  • This leader will establish a sales process and routines including conducting sales meetings to review pipeline, prospecting, deposit gathering, and other activities for the team.
  • This leader ensures adherence to policies and procedures and fosters a one-team relationship with credit to ensure proper risk adherence
  • This Leader will be responsible for providing consistent advice, coaching and guidance to the banking team on specialized industries banking practices and deal structure
  • This leader will be responsible for setting pipeline and production goals and coach bankers in all business development efforts and perform general management duties, exercising usual authority concerning staff, performance appraisals, promotions, terminations, and salary administration.
  • This leader will be supported in community activities to increase awareness and visibility in the Ft Worth marketplace.

Job Skills and Qualifications:



  • 10 + years of community banking experience
  • At least five (5) years leadership experience (including deal team leadership)
  • Seven (7) years of prior community C&I lending experience a must
  • This leader will have demonstrated industry expertise
  • Demonstrated professional courage and coachable character
  • Great communication skills, empathy, common sense, generosity, the ability to identify and develop great talent.
  • A disciplined approach to new business development.
  • This leader establishes certainty of execution, has high attention to detail, is an active listener, and constant learner
  • A professional with a developed, established network of client contacts
  • Proven ability to originate, and execute and close community loans, treasury management solutions,
  • Demonstrated positive management/leadership skills and principles
  • Deep experience developing others
