Job Summary:

The Post Closing-Collateral Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operational and administrative functions and review of loans to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Follows established procedures in review of internal/external documentation and deal structure of specialized loans. Coordinates with various internal departments to ensure proper procedures, account maintenance, and monitoring. Works with internal clients and consistently maintains a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities and Duties:



  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise, and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Escalate individual errors as appropriate to ensure proper resolution and minimize customer services deficiencies.
  • Reviews loan documents to ensure documentation is approved and in compliance with regulations and company policy.
  • Conducts reviews of perfected loan documents to verify accuracy and compliance with regulations and bank policy.
  • Provides customer service support primarily to internal customers; performs file research and review to provide answers to customer inquiries or directs questions to the appropriate team member or department for response.
  • Maintains knowledge of current lending policies, procedures, and regulation; stays abreast of variations in laws across state boundaries; attends and completes all necessary training.
  • Accurately enters collateral data into collateral management system.
  • Integrity, discretion, and respect for confidential information are absolutely essential.


Job Skills and Qualifications:



  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively
  • Positive attitude with a strong customer service focus
  • Solid knowledge of lending practices, processing, compliance, and documentation.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint as well as PC/Windows knowledge, and Nitro Professional/Adobe Pro
  • Ability to learn and apply the terminology, methods, concepts, and regulations that govern credit and loan operations
  • Professional communication skills
  • Problem solves; research issues, handles complex customer/team member questions or issues, makes timely decisions related to workflow and/or procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • High School Diploma/GED with 3 years bank loan operations experience or College Degree with bank loan operations experience
  • Three or more years' experience in loan operations
