Compliance Analyst

ISO New England is the independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. We are at the forefront of New England's ongoing transition to clean energy.

The Lead Compliance Analyst serves as a point person to support compliance operations and improve business practices for the ISO Tariff and NERC Operating and Planning standards in support of our strategic goal of operational excellence. In this role, you will collaborate with impacted business units to identify, monitor, and mitigate compliance risks including assisting with the onboarding process for NERC Standard and ISO Tariff changes. Additionally, maintain awareness of standards in development and regulatory agency actions and represent the ISO at stakeholder meetings. Identify and implement process improvements to the tools and resources used to ensure compliance. Use and configuration of Python programs to facilitate document research.

How you will make an impact:



  • Assist with internal control improvements for compliance
  • Work with RSA Archer software to perform compliance assessments and control testing
  • Support regulatory approval of collateral requirement design and governing document changes including providing expert witness testimony in support of proposed changes
  • Create and deliver presentations that clearly explain ISO compliance with NERC standards and the ISO Tariff
  • Assist in monitoring changes to the ISO Tariff



What you need to be successful in this role:



  • Bachelor's degree in Auditing, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or other relevant major required. Master's degree or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years' experience with a compliance program within a related organization or other relevant experience is desired
  • Working knowledge of NERC Standards
  • Applied knowledge of the ISO
  • Desired not required:
  • Experience with RSA Archer GRC software
  • Experience with Northeast electricity or natural gas markets
  • Experience with Python software development

This is a U.S. based role. If the successful candidate resides outside of the U.S., relocation will be required.
