*This position is located onsite, you must reside in the state of WI.*

POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing projects that support the strategic objectives of the credit union. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget while aligning with organizational goals and providing a seamless experience for members and team members. The Project Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, external partners, and stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

General Responsibilities



  • Ability to help define, refine, and hone project requests and develop workable project plans that support strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and document project scope, goals, risks, and deliverables.
  • Determines the required team members and resources needed to effectively complete projects.
  • Works with leadership and team members for a successful delivery of projects on time, and within scope and quality.
  • Tracks the status of projects against the plan and adjusts schedules and resources, accordingly, notifying appropriate team members throughout the way.


  • Communicate regularly and effectively with project teams, leaders, and key team members to ensure all are informed of project status, issues, and recovery plans for projects or tasks.
  • Prepares and updates project management documentation including project plans, meeting agendas, and project update reports.
  • Holds project team members accountable for completion of project and tasks.
  • Contributes to the ongoing improvement of Project Management methodology and process flows.
  • Responsible for promoting, supporting, and educating team members on Project Management software, methodology and Verve best practices, along with oversight and problem resolution on software issues.
  • Primary administrative support for Project Management software
  • Provide support for annual project planning process to support Strategic Initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Project Planning & Execution:

    • Partner with the project owner, define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with business goals.
    • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful delivery.
    • Coordinate resources, manage dependencies, and track progress to meet project milestones.


  • Stakeholder Collaboration:

    • Facilitate regular communication to provide updates on project status, risks, and achievements.
    • Act as a liaison between internal teams, vendors, and external partners to ensure alignment.


  • Risk & Issue Management:

    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
    • Address and resolve project challenges promptly to maintain progress and quality.


  • Process Improvement:

    • Analyze current workflows and recommend enhancements to optimize efficiency and service delivery.
    • Implement best practices and standards in project management.


  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including charters, schedules, and status reports.
    • Provide regular updates to leadership on project performance and outcomes.


  • Team Leadership & Development:

    • Guide and motivate project teams to achieve objectives.
    • Additional duties as assigned.




Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE




  • Bachelor's degree in business, project management, or a related field.
  • 3 years of project management experience, managing large cross-functional projects, preferably in a financial or credit union environment.
  • Proficiency with project management software and advanced computer proficiency.
  • PMP certification preferred.



KEY COMPETENCIES



  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Workfront, MS Project, or similar platforms).
  • Ability to analyze data, draw insights, and make informed decisions.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage complex initiatives.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Commitment to the credit union's mission, values, and service excellence.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT




  • Work Environment: Business office, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand at a desk the majority of the workday; talk or hear; stand or walk occasionally. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is typically utilizing a computer, keyboard and phone. May occasionally reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds.
