The Team:The American Girl Retail team is integral in providing lifetime memories to American Girl fans and their families. Our experiential retail stores provide shopping destinations like no other. This requires Innovation, Collaboration, and Execution from all who are a part of this division. Our in-store experiences range depending on location from Girl and Doll Salons, Full-Service Restaurants, Personal Shopping, Ear Piercing (Girl and Doll), hosting Parties/Celebrations to name a few. Expect a dynamic and fast-paced role where you get to make decisions that impact the team as well as our customers.

The Opportunity:The Merchandise Handler Lead is located at the AG Los Angeles Retail Flagship location and reports directly to the Merchandising Operations Manager. This position is responsible for assisting in the management of the back of house operations and to provide leadership and direction to the department team.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Monitor and supervise placement of merchandise both on the selling floor and in the stockroom according to visual, safety and efficiency standards.
  • Supervise and verify incoming and outgoing trailers and manifests.
  • Assume leadership role in absence of Assistant Operations Manager; troubleshoot when needed.
  • Promote team environment; coach and motivate department members; delegate and develop skill set of team; provide regular and constructive feedback.
  • Communicate internal and external concerns to manager; communicate company, store, and department information to associates.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and maintenance of store's PC's and registers.
  • Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned such as ordering store supplies and staff scheduling.

What We're Looking For:

  • 6 months to 2 years of experience with merchandise handling, inventory, and maintenance issues, preferred.
  • Experience in maintaining/troubleshooting IT and POS equipment, preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be available to work open and close shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Hourly:

The base hourly rate for this position is between$19 - $22.80.

**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base hourly rate will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
