We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Physical MAC (Moves, Adds, and Changes) Lead to manage the coordination and execution of telecommunications infrastructure modifications in a classified Department of Defense (DoD) environment. This role focuses on physical layer changes, ensuring structured cabling and connectivity adjustments are executed efficiently, securely, and in compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage Moves, Adds, and Changes (MAC) activities for all physical telecommunications infrastructure, including copper and fiber cabling.
- Plan, document, and oversee all MAC-related tasks, ensuring minimal disruption to operational environments.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to understand connectivity requirements and ensure timely implementation of changes.
- Ensure compliance with BICSI standards and other applicable telecommunications codes and regulations.
- Oversee or perform the physical installation, relocation, or removal of network cabling and hardware.
- Maintain detailed records of all MAC activities, including diagrams, asset tracking, and labeling standards.
- Provide guidance and technical direction to field personnel performing MAC work.
- Interface with engineers, IT teams, and facility managers to align changes with broader IT and facility strategies.
Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Citizenship and Clearance:
- US Citizenship is required.
- Must have and maintain a current DoD TS/SCI Clearance.
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or 5 years' equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Certifications:
- Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of structured cabling systems and infrastructure management
- Familiarity with telecommunications industry standards and best practices (e.g., BICSI, EIA/TIA)
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills to interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to manage and track multiple concurrent MAC tasks in a secure environment
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality, safety, and documentation
Work Environment and Physical Demand:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- May require ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- May require the ability to crawl on the floor and in tight spaces, and climb ladders and elevated platforms to install equipment, cables, and fiber.
