We are seeking a skilled Voice Technician to support and maintain voice communications systems within a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with telephony technologies, network fundamentals, and hands-on troubleshooting in secure environments, along with a commitment to delivering high-quality customer support. Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot voice and telephony systems including ISDN, VoIP, VoSIP, teleconferencing devices, and related technologies.
- Support and ensure functionality of voice systems in accordance with DoD standards and security protocols.
- Perform analysis and diagnostics to resolve network and telephony-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with IT and communications teams to implement voice solutions and support new technology rollouts.
- Provide responsive customer service and technical support in a high-visibility, mission-critical environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, updates, and troubleshooting activities.
Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Citizenship and Clearance:
- US Citizenship is required.
- Must have and maintain a current DoD Secret clearance.
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience
- Experience:
- 3+ years of related Voice Technician experience
- 3+ years of related IT/telecommunications experience working within the DOD environment
- Certifications:
- One or more of the following active network certifications OR related Telephony Certifications from Avaya, Nortel, AT&T, etc.
- Skills:
- Experience configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting and fixing issues of the data network and telephony systems (ISDN,VoIP, VoSIP, Teleconferencing Devices etc.), and associated technologies in conformity with DoD processes and standards.
- Demonstrated Customer Service and Support Skills in a high visibility environment.
- Fundamental knowledge of the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)/IP protocol suite and must be well-versed with the physical MAC and IP addresses
- Problem analysis and problem solving.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
Work Environment and Physical Demand:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- May require ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- May require the ability to crawl on the floor and in tight spaces, and climb ladders and elevated platforms to install equipment, cables, and fiber.
