We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of advanced network infrastructures supporting Department of Defense (DoD) operations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in routed and switched network architectures, Software Defined Networks (SDN), and modern networking technologies. This role requires an active Secret clearance, strong technical credentials, and hands-on leadership experience in secure DoD environments. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, architect, configure, and implement enterprise-level routed and switched network solutions.
- Serve as the senior or lead engineer for Software Defined Network (SDN) planning, design, and implementation.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, and related network infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance, conduct capacity planning, and perform trend analysis.
- Leverage current and emerging network design principles and protocols to improve performance and security.
- Utilize network virtualization and multi-tenant architecture strategies to support scalable, mission-critical environments.
- Apply scripting and automation techniques to support proactive network management and event response.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, project managers, and stakeholders to define and deliver network solutions aligned with organizational goals.
Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Citizenship and Clearance:
- US Citizenship is required.
- Must have and maintain a current DoD Secret Clearance.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering or Equivalent.
- Experience:
- 5+ years primary role operating, troubleshooting, installing network routers and switches.
- 5+ years primary role designing, architecting routed and switched networks.
- 2+ years as senior or lead engineer in planning, designing, and building software defined networks.
- 3+ years DoD environment.
- Certifications:
- Must have and maintain an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M.
- Must have and maintain at least one of the following: CASP+CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, or CCSP.
- Skills:
- Outstanding mathematics and IT abilities.
- Configuring and installing various network devices and services.
- Monitoring network performance and resource utilization, trending, capacity planning.
- Use of current and emergent network design principles and protocols.
- Experience with network virtualization technologies.
- Experience with multi-tenant network architectures.
- Familiarity with a wide variety of network routing and switching equipment devices from multiple vendors.
- Scripting languages and coding for network threshold events.
