We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure and resilient network infrastructures for Department of Defense (DoD) operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Enterprise Transport Networks (ETNs) and possess a strong background in advanced network engineering, security, and transport technologies. Key Responsibilities: Design, configure, deploy, and support routed and switched network infrastructures, with a focus on Enterprise Transport Networks (ETNs) and high-availability architectures. Provide Tier III support for diagnosing and resolving complex network and transport-related issues. Ensure network security and compliance with DoD security policies, including implementation of encryption, firewalls, and access controls. Monitor and optimize network performance across enterprise-level transport systems and conduct capacity planning and performance tuning. Collaborate with engineering and cybersecurity teams to integrate ETN services into broader enterprise IT and mission systems. Develop and maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures. Support system accreditation and audit preparation activities in accordance with DoD RMF. Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience: Citizenship and Clearance: US Citizenship is required. Must have and maintain a current DoD TS/SCI clearance. Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise-level network design, security, and management. Demonstrated experience with Enterprise Transport Networks, including planning, integration, and optimization. Certifications: Must have and maintain an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M. Must have and maintain at least one of the following: CASP+CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, or CCSP. Skills: Expertise in TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs, VPNs, and network segmentation Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and other enterprise-grade networking platforms Strong understanding of Enterprise Transport Network architecture, monitoring tools, and protocols Familiarity with DoD STIGs and RMF processes Scripting/automation experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus Strong communication, leadership, and documentation skills Work Environment and Physical Demand: Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer. May require ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
