We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure and resilient network infrastructures for Department of Defense (DoD) operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Enterprise Transport Networks (ETNs) and possess a strong background in advanced network engineering, security, and transport technologies. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, deploy, and support routed and switched network infrastructures, with a focus on Enterprise Transport Networks (ETNs) and high-availability architectures.
- Provide Tier III support for diagnosing and resolving complex network and transport-related issues.
- Ensure network security and compliance with DoD security policies, including implementation of encryption, firewalls, and access controls.
- Monitor and optimize network performance across enterprise-level transport systems and conduct capacity planning and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with engineering and cybersecurity teams to integrate ETN services into broader enterprise IT and mission systems.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Support system accreditation and audit preparation activities in accordance with DoD RMF.
Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Citizenship and Clearance:
- US Citizenship is required.
- Must have and maintain a current DoD TS/SCI clearance.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise-level network design, security, and management.
- Demonstrated experience with Enterprise Transport Networks, including planning, integration, and optimization.
- Certifications:
- Must have and maintain an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M.
- Must have and maintain at least one of the following: CASP+CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, or CCSP.
- Skills:
- Expertise in TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs, VPNs, and network segmentation
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and other enterprise-grade networking platforms
- Strong understanding of Enterprise Transport Network architecture, monitoring tools, and protocols
- Familiarity with DoD STIGs and RMF processes
- Scripting/automation experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus
- Strong communication, leadership, and documentation skills
