*Description*
-Splice fiber optic cables including both loose tube and ribbon optic cables. -Perform fusion splicing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables. -Conduct tests to ensure the performance of optical fibers using OTDRs, power meters, and light sources. Read and interpret network installation blueprints and splice schedules. -Troubleshoot and repair fiber networks to maintain high-quality service. -Operate specialized equipment and vehicles necessary for fiber optic splicing. -Document and report on completed installations and any irregularities or issues. -Adhere to industry safety standards and protocols during all installations and repairs. -Maintain updated knowledge of the latest fiber optic technology, equipment, and techniques. *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Experience with Outside Plant (OSP) activities. Familiarity with hand tools and equipment used in fiber splicing. Knowledge of industry safety standards and best practices. Computer literacy with MS Office products and testing equipment. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr.
