Lead Room Service Associate - Main Campus

Memorial Sloan Kettering is seeking a Lead Room Service Associate-a detail-oriented and patient-focused individual responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely delivery and collection of patient meal trays, nourishments, and enteral feedings. This role is essential in supporting high-quality patient care by maintaining unit pantry supplies, assisting with room service information, and working closely with Clinical Dietitians and Nursing staff to ensure patients receive appropriate nutrition in a conscientious and efficient manner.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Serves as a key point of contact for daily service delivery; partners with the supervisor and independently is responsible for operations in their absence to ensure a flawless patient experience.
• Utilizes the Exception File and Unit Round Sheet to prove that every listed patient receives a Menu, and that all information (e.g., patient name, room number, ID number, diet order) is accurate.
• Initiates corrective actions (e.g., contacting the Diet Office or nurse's station) when discrepancies or missing information are identified.
• Distributes Menus at scheduled times and identifies patients (e.g., late or new admissions) who have not received one.
• Follows up with patients who did not place a meal order; investigates the reason and determines the appropriate intervention per department protocols.
• Assesses and selects the accurate meal ordering method based on established patient criteria.
• Leads day-to-day service functions, providing mentorship and support to associates across the Patient Units, Diet Office, Diet Kitchen, and other service areas.
• Verifies tray accuracy before delivery, ensuring that tray contents match the meal ticket; reports discrepancies to the Diet Office.
• Completes and maintains daily tracking sheets for operational consistency.
• Assists the supervisor in supervising environmental compliance and initiates follow-up as needed.
• Performs temperature checks at scheduled intervals, documents results, and reports any substandard readings to the supervisor in accordance with MSK policies and NYC/State Health Code regulations.

Key Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Hospitality
• Experience in Clinical Dietetics is preferred

Additional Information:

Full-Time, Monday - Friday,7am - 3pm.

Location: Main Campus; 1275 York Ave.

Reports to Manager, Patient Experience Food & Nutrition Services

Pay Range: $26.21 - $39.24
