Job Description:
-Lead the implementation of an enterprise wide analytics strategy utilizing and having expertise in the MicroStrategy Business Intelligence tool, the Snowflake Platform and Matillion Integration Product. This implementation incorporates the needs from various campus divisions, aligned with the overall IT strategy.
-Lead the ongoing management of the enterprise scale analytics platform, business intelligence tools and data management tools previously mentioned via expertise in SQL and prior validation frameworks.
-Contribute and support the instituting of data governance using Data Cookbook. Having experience in partnering in the support by working with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Finance, HR, and other key members of the campus community.
-Provide innovative and forward thinking leadership towards analytics and business intelligence with the specific technology stack mentioned, champion innovation and create a culture of continuous improvement where new thinking is appreciated.
-Strengthen data systems by ensuring architecture, standards and methods are documented and followed. Knowledge of concepts such as Data Model Patterns, Slowly Changing Dimensions are required.
-Institute appropriate controls and security measures that manage the university's data. Apply risk management processes to identify, manage, and mitigate risk for all enterprise applications. Ensure appropriate policies and procedures are created and implemented.
-Implement application performance management strategies, database strategies, monitor strategies for MicroStrategy, Snowflake and for modern cloud platforms. Facilitate proactive planning in Smartsheet to improve overall application performance for all relevant applications that are in scope for enterprise analytics.
-Direct the efforts of the business intelligence team with deep and diverse technical capabilities using prior leadership experience, encourage and facilitate on-going professional development in a field where technological change and innovation is constant.
-Collaborate with the enterprise applications group leadership and IST counterparts on strategies that benefit the division and the campus.
-Engage regularly with campus partners, including faculty, staff, students and alumni on topics and issues related to enterprise analytics, data and reporting needs.
-Handle vendor relationships and resources utilizing existing prior Vendor Management experience.

Education & Experience:
-Requires a Master's degree in Information Systems & Operations Management and 4 years of experience in the job offered or 4 years of experience in the Related Occupation.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Related Occupation:

-Create training and rollout approach for BI Dashboards for the University community.
-Provide innovative and forward thinking leadership towards analytics and business intelligence with the specific technology stack mentioned, champion innovation and create a culture of continuous improvement where new thinking is appreciated.
-Assist in evangelizing and presenting BI capabilities, plans and benefits to Stakeholders.
-Engage regularly with campus partners, including faculty, staff, students and alumni on topics and issues related to enterprise analytics, data and reporting needs.
-Participate in the requirements gathering, design, development, maintenance, support and documentation of Reporting and Analytics objects including logical data models, operational reports, and dashboards across multiple data domains supported by the team.
-Provide expertise in data modeling, database design, data governance and master data management.
