Plan, organize, prioritize, and monitor workflow of various units as defined by the Lab Director. Ensure internal and external customer expectations are met and exceeded. Manage, train, and evaluate staff to achieve and maintain unit standards.
Assign, distribute, and monitor work of all assigned units to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely processing of lens orders and adherence to department standards Analyze and report on operational methods, processes, equipment, and facilities in light of current operational needs and future strategic objectives Develop unit budget and monitor unit expenses to ensure unit costs are within established levels Develop, maintain, and monitor unit standards, processes, and procedures to ensure efficient, accurate, and measurable processing Ensure achievement of unit service and production goals Ensure effective communications are maintained within the unit and externally. Where appropriate inform employees as to plans and progress; conduct employee discussion sessions at regular intervals Coordinate with other units/departments to facilitate special requests, resolve workflow or production issues Monitor performance of direct reports; provide prompt and objective coaching and counseling; conduct performance reviews Participate in the hiring and interviewing process for open positions within the unit ensuring that the most qualified candidates are selected Develop and implement approved training plans to ensure employees receive appropriate information and instruction Other duties as assigned Job Specifications Typically has the following skills or abilities: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience Minimum of 3 years of management experience with responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work, and managing performance of direct reports In-depth understanding of order processing and customer service operations Excellent verbal and written communication skills to develop and communicate procedures and plans and to communicate with business clients and staff Proven problem-solving skills Ability to analyze and modify work processes Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of job duties #LI-OPTICS Compensation range for the role is listed below. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
