Description
Receiving Clerk - WS Reports to: Distribution Center Manager Supervises: N/A Summary Statement: The Receiving Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory counts and quality control procedures for all incoming materials. The duties include unloading delivery trucks and checking the contents of the shipments against BOM, packing slips, etc., following proper SOPs for the receiving process. Essential Job Functions
- Unload delivery trucks using a forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment.
- Comparing packing lists to company purchase orders and ensuring that the products in each delivery match the packing list
- Review inbound shipments and verify items and quantities before taking delivery, signing bills of lading and receiving documentation noting and alerting purchasing of any discrepancies.
- Work with buyers and accounting to resolve any discrepancies.
- Ensure all paperwork is complete and scanned to D365 correctly.
- Properly receive all parcel shipments from USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.
- Participate in the Goods Received Not Invoiced (GRNI) team that meets frequently with accounting and supply chain to reduce the GRNI.
- Responsible for maintaining a well-organized, safe, and clean warehouse.
- Fill in for other department employees during their absences.
- Assist with all cycle counts as they are scheduled.
Marginal Job Functions
- Assist other personnel as time and knowledge permit.
- Participate in training and meetings as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Must be able to work professionally as part of a team with other department employees.
- Must be able to comprehend and perform duties using established work and safety procedures.
- Must be able to become and maintain forklift certification.
- Must be able to do basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds and must be able to carry 40 pounds for a minimum of 25 feet.
- Must be able to bend, walk, stoop, climb and stand for an 8-hour period.
- Must be able to work Monday - Friday, 8 hours per day as well as both planned and unplanned overtime.
- Must be able to learn and perform the other warehouse duties in order to fill in during absences.
Education and Work Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is required.
- Experience with material/inventory control software systems is preferred.
- Must have a valid NC driver's license with a driving record that will allow company insurability.
