ABX MATERIAL SPECIALIST (3rd Shift)

Location: Wilmington, OH

What you will do:
The Material Specialist will implement plans and policies to support daily aircraft material needs for ABX Line aircraft at the AOG Desk. This will include procuring critical parts as a buyer, working with ABX Purchasing to procure the needed material, monitoring and expediting current ABX assets in repair, borrowing and exchanging parts and tooling with other airline companies and coordinate the movement of the material to the location needed. This position will also work closely with our ABX Out-base stations to ensure required allocations and material is maintained at those stations. The position will also work with our Repair Services group to send parts for repair to our ABX selected Repair Suppliers. Occasional travel as needed to support our out-base operations.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • High School diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years experience in Inventory Control, Purchasing or similar work or functional knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Purchasing, Repair Services, Inventory Control and AOG operations, procedures and terms
  • Working knowledge of computerized inventory/materials management system
  • Working knowledge of aircraft, engines, components, parts, etc., including IPCs, SBs, Ads, etc.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Analytical skills, effective oral and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Two (2) years airline industry work experience in heavy maintenance, back shop, or materials
  • Studies in business, industrial management and/or aviation maintenance/engineering
  • FAA - A&P License
  • APICS - CPIM or CPM certification
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
