Position Summary:

This position reports to the CHRO in the New York Office. The Legal Recruiting Manager is primarily responsible for managing the entry level associate program and lateral recruiting efforts for the Firm's U.S. offices.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing all aspects of associate hiring, summer associate programs, law student recruiting and lateral associate hiring. Provide support to Firm leadership with the direct-admit Partner hiring process.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with search firms, schedule interviews, communicate and coordinate with Firm and Practice leadership.
  • Interact with all levels of Firm leadership including Hiring Partners to execute recruiting strategy and candidate outreach efforts.
  • Facilitate the on-campus interview process for designated offices, including school selection, callback scheduling and the offer process.
  • Organize and attend law school recruiting events and work with Career Services Offices to identify areas for firm involvement.
  • Manage all aspects of the summer associate program, including assignments, evaluations, feedback, training, and social activities.
  • Establish and maintain systems (including, but not limited to, an applicant tracking system) to ensure accurate data tracking and analysis.
  • Cultivate and maintain working relationships with legal search firms, law schools and industry organizations (including NALP) to stay abreast of and share best practices and market trends.
  • Oversee Alumni engagement, including organizing an annual Alumni event and collaborating with Marketing & Business Development to maintain contact with former attorneys and legal staff.
  • Develop and monitor the annual budget for legal recruiting activities.
  • Handle other responsibilities as needed by the COO and CHRO.


Education and General Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of recruiting experience in a law firm environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities.
  • Outstanding relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate with professionals and attorneys across the firm as well as with external parties.
  • Able to exercise sound judgement and discretion in all circumstances.
  • Current knowledge of industry best practices, trends, and techniques.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite and applicant tracking software.
