We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Developer to support federal agency operations with hands-on expertise in relational databases, data warehousing, and data governance. This role demands a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of federal policies, workflows, and secure database implementation.

Senior Database Developer Responsibilities Include:



  • Design, implement, and maintain relational databases and data warehouses to support mission-critical applications.
  • Develop and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for efficient data flow and integration.
  • Perform advanced data modeling and data analysis to ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems.
  • Maintain compliance with data governance standards and federal data security policies (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP).
  • Utilize tools such as ERwin or similar to design and document complex data models.
  • Develop stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support scalable and secure application development.
  • Support cloud-based and hybrid database environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into database solutions.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned



Senior Database Developer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline required; Master's degree preferred.

    • General work experience may be substituted for education at a rate of 2 years of experience per year of education.

  • 15+ years of federal onsite experience, with strong familiarity with agency policies and workflows.
  • Expertise in SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL database platforms.
  • Extensive experience in data warehousing, ETL development, and data integration.
  • Proficiency in data modeling and use of tools like ERwin or similar.
  • Solid understanding of data governance frameworks to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Experience with cloud database services on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (preferred).
  • Knowledge of federal security standards such as FISMA and FedRAMP (preferred).
  • Ability to write complex stored procedures, functions, and database triggers.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
