Summary: The Outpatient Behavioral Health Director will lead the launch and growth of our new outpatient behavioral health service for both adults and children. This pivotal leadership role will oversee and support a multidisciplinary team including Practice Managers, Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Behavioral Health Care Managers, and Clinical Psychologists. The Director will play a key role in strategic planning, operational management, and clinical integration-ensuring the highest quality care and aligning services with our mission of improving the health and well-being of the communities we serve. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct leadership, mentorship, and operational oversight to Practice Managers, LCSWs, Behavioral Health Care Managers, and Clinical Psychologists.
- Establish clear goals and performance expectations across all outpatient behavioral health services.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Lead the development and implementation of a new outpatient behavioral health service line from the ground up.
- Design workflows, protocols, and quality standards to ensure clinical effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build strong referral networks and integrated care pathways.
- Champion the integration of behavioral health into primary care using collaborative care management (CoCM) principles.
- Guide the adoption and evaluation of evidence-based models that promote coordinated care between behavioral health providers, primary care teams, and psychiatric consultants.
- Monitor clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and provider performance to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Manage budgets, staffing models, and resource allocation in partnership with executive leadership.
- Contribute to long-term planning, service line expansion, and innovative care models.
- Analyze service utilization and identify opportunities for service enhancement or population-specific programming.
Other information:
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Health, Health Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in behavioral health, preferably within an outpatient or integrated care setting.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of collaborative care management, behavioral health integration, and population-based mental health care.
Preferred
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Health, Health Administration, or a related field
- Active clinical licensure (e.g., LCSW, PhD, PsyD)
- Certification or demonstrated training in collaborative care models
