Monday-Friday (7:30 am - 4:00 pm or 8:00 am - 4:30 pm) *Competitive Pay* - $18.00-19.00 an hour (depending on experience) *Expedited Interviews* - Access to additional Resume support and pre-interview questions *Great Benefits* - Take advantage of a Blue Cross Blue Shield benefits package (Dental, vision, 401k) *Top Local Company *- Join one of the largest employers and hospitals within the Hampton Roads area * * * * *A day in the role...* * This opening is in a Pathology Division - THIS IS ALL SURGERY SAMPLES - inpatient, outpatient and autopsies - anything surgery related * Day to day functions: * Most of the duties will be administrative * Transcription process - Histotech transcribes the samples - they measure the growths, they describe it in a recording * This gets transcribed in the pathology report * The pathologists go in and review the tissue and slides - the pathologist will record their findings in the report * Then the recording will go to this person - the Transcription Admin - they will have to be transcribed in Cerner Pathnet * All of that needs to be transcribed in a final report - This person will listen to the recording and transcribe it in (there are templates in Cerner Pathnet that make it a little bit easier - it simplifies the typing component) * The report needs to be given back to the pathologist, reviews it then releases it * Other administrative tasks: * Sending out specimens, getting reports out, tracking * * *Necessary Skills and Strengths:* Strong Computer Skills | Great Customer/Patient Service | Medical Terminology | EMR Systems | Multi-Tasking | Fast Paced Environment | Procedure Notes | Transcription | Editing Procedure Notes | Medication Knowledge *Core Experience:* * 1+ years of transcription experience * Cerner Pathnet is extremely helpful * Strong attention to detail and organization *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
