This position is the primary contact for information technology issues related to software applications used by Patient Financial Services. This position is responsible for first level support of revenue cycle software and applications, including, but not limited to, end user access and set up, and payer enrollment and remittance setup. This position will communicate and work with outside vendors to assure optimal functionality and best in class revenue cycle operations. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining daily operations activities of the revenue cycle systems and applications. Ensures accurate and timely submission of all required data to the West Virginia Hospital Association and/or West Virginia Healthcare Authority.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related disciplineANDTwo (2) years' experience revenue cycle software applicationsOR;

High school Diploma or EquivalentANDsix (6) years' experience revenue cycle software applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related discipline

EXPERIENCE:

1. Two (2) years' experience hospital billing.

1. Supports revenue cycle departmental applications (Xpeditor, payer portals, MediQuant, Data ARC, FISS, Epic).

2. Establishes user names and passwords for departmental applications and websites.

3. Proactively monitors clearinghouse system actions to improve Epic workflows and edits.

4 Monitors and root causes payer rejections.

5. Assesses all computer-related equipment and faxes to ensure they meet Information Technology standards and requirements.

6. Coordinates claim runs and submissions.

7. Assures software and applications conform to all applicable HIPAA standards and participate in the build and assessment of applications for upgrades and enhancements.

8. Performs applicable revenue cycle reporting such as developing, maintaining, and monitoring HIDI, claim edits, rejections, and aging data.

9. Submits requests for new user access, new equipment and other IT related services as directed by the department manager or director.

10. Applies system analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications and escalates issues as needed.

11. Troubleshoots and isolates issues with department specific applications.Identify and resolve daily problems and reported issues

12. Monitors application performance and makes recommendations for improvement.

13. Provides support for Revenue Cycle One Content Users.

14. Works with Information Technology to assure accurate and timely submission of all data to the West Virginia Hospital Association and/or West Virginia Healthcare Authority for all WVU Medicine facilities.

15. Monitors daily work queues and FBNS to ensure maximum efficiency.

16. Serves as the enterprise administrator to maintain and assess user security functions for all payer portals and websites including new user setup and termination.

17. Design, document, and test system rules modification of criteria related to clearinghouse systems

18. Maintains ERA/EFT enrollments for all enterprise hospitals and associated providers.

19. Proactively monitors Quadax claim edits to improve Epic workflows and edits.

20. Creates and maintains Quadax Xpress Billers, Custom Converts, security levels, user views, for enterprise facilities and providers.

21. Perform systems analysis to research, gather, and analyze information and propose alternative solutions. Participate in new/modification requests as assigned. Performs functional and integrated testing for more complex workflows. Independently oversees system configurations and design options to make appropriate recommendations for system maintenance or project decision.

22. Manages inventory of billing information including but not limited to facilities, NPIs, tax IDs, and payor identifiers.

23. Conduct audits of system or user activities as required.
