We are seeking a Senior Fixed Asset Accountant to join our corporate office located in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a hybrid opportunity with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely.
The key responsibilities include reviewing ASC 805 asset acquisitions, creating journal entries, and managing the Fixed Asset SubLedger. The role involves serving as the primary contact for internal groups regarding Fixed Assets, creating and reviewing Asset Masters, and ensuring the accuracy of fixed asset reports. It also includes performing annual fixed asset rollforwards, conducting ad-hoc reporting and analysis, and assisting in the preparation of demolitions and impairment analyses. Additionally, the role requires reviewing depreciation schedules, managing the payment process, overseeing 3rd Party operations, and reviewing asset disposals.

What You'll Be Doing:




  • Review ASC 805 asset acquisitions. Create journal entries and prepare and upload all assets to Fixed Asset SubLedger.
  • Serve as the primary contact and support for internal groups including Property Management, Tax, Internal Audit, IT, all functions within the REA department, and Management regarding information requests related to Fixed Assets.
  • Create, review and post Asset Masters for lease and non-lease related assets. Additionally, review unposted fixed asset reports and posted fixed asset reports weekly for accuracy.
  • Perform and review annual fixed asset rollforwards, as well as additional ad-hoc reporting and analysis related to Real Estate Accounting, including but not limited to 10-Q and 10-K. Assist in the preparation of demolition analyses, quarterly fixed asset impairment analyses, quarterly and annual footnotes and supplemental reporting.
  • Review depreciation schedules for all new lease and non-lease related assets and document the findings. Assist and complete preparation of month-end depreciation reports, capital expenditure reports, and subledger reports including internal control reports, ledger integrity, and other ad hoc reports as required.
  • Manage the payment process, including Nexus Purchase Order (PO). Perform monthly reviews of PO to ensure completeness and accuracy of related reporting.
  • Manage 3rd Party daily operations, including reviewing and assessing their deliverables.
  • Review the asset disposals from moveouts, demolition, property disposition, etc. and verify the accuracy of the disposal report. Additionally, review and post the disposal journal entries.


Are You Qualified?




  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Related field.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience performing in a Fixed Asset group
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Intermediate level proficiency with JD Edwards (or related accounting software), Spreadsheet Server and Hubble preferred
