Description

Under general supervision, prepare and process payroll from start to finish with a high degree of accuracy and attention to details. Perform detailed review and analysis before, during, and after processing to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and controls as well as external regulations and requirements.


Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepare, analyze, and process payroll.
2. Prepare and reconcile payroll related payables.
3. Provide customer service that is solution-focused and serve as the primary contact for questions from departments relating to timesheets and payroll.
4. May provide training to departments to assist with technical understanding, etc.
5. Audit work and identify opportunities for improving procedures and systems.
6. Create and maintain files, records and program statistical data, and prepare reports.
7. Participate in and contribute to assignments and special projects of a similar nature and level.
8. Maintain current professional and technical knowledge in the field through professional education and activities.


Minimum Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Extensive knowledge of payroll regulations and rules.
  • Advanced computer software application skills including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Interpersonal communication skills - oral, written and listening.
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to provide customer service that is solution-focused to a diverse population of internal and external customers.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  2. Two years of payroll processing experience, including the full payroll cycle and year end processes.

Supplemental Information

The Payroll Technician/Analyst is part of the Financial Accounting Services department and will report to the Payroll Manager. This position is available to start on or before July 16, 2025.

This is a full-time, exempt-level position, and is benefit eligible. The hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary is commensurate of experience and is listed to the midpoint of the range on the 25/26 salary table.
