Reporting to the VP Finance, the Controller is a key member of the finance team, with a broad range of direct financial reporting and accounting responsibilities. Position will be the primary owner and administrator of the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures for the Company and US GAAP. Position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and the management of accounts receivable/payables, inventory, collections, and invoicing. You will work closely with Business units, FP&A, and operations groups, providing financial and accounting oversight, and will oversee the work of other team members to ensure accuracy of data and delivery of high-quality products/reports to meet established deadlines. What You'll do
- Own and manage all aspects of the month/quarter/year-end close processes across the company, including preparation and/or review of general ledger journal entries, A/P, inventory, A/R, accruals and bank reconciliations.
- Oversee accounting team, driving best-in-class accuracy and timeliness of results. Guide, mentor, coach, and support members in accounting and reporting teams
- Assist and provide guidance to subsidiary companies as applicable to ensure compliance with GAAP and to facilitate external reporting requirements and address periodic inquiries from subsidiary companies.
- Monitor books and records of Standex Electronics and subsidiaries to ensure accuracy of data; monthly reconciliation and review of Balance Sheet and P&L accounts. Act as custodian of the balance sheet and ensure financial statements represent a true and fair view
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and year-over-year analysis to senior management for review and identify red flags, if any
- Assist in the implementation of internal controls and policies, and procedures
- Cash management function - review upcoming transactions, cash forecast, and monitoring of cash accounts. Ensure proper cash liquidity for multiple entities.
- Own Accounts Receivables for the company; Execute actions to deliver targeted DSO
- Track and monitor intercompany transactions and reconciliations
- Assist the VP Finance, Standex Corporate team, and senior management in ad-hoc requests related to the accounting and reporting functions.
- Provide accounting and analytical support for M&A and investments, including analysis of opportunities, due diligence, purchase price accounting, and integration.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors, legal firms and audit firm(s) and the Standex corporate team in the preparation of tax returns and audited consolidated financial statements for the company and its subsidiaries.
- Assist in the coordination with operations, other stakeholders, and management in the company's annual and ongoing budget and forecasting processes
- Assist in the development of meaningful, timely, and accurate monthly reporting processes/procedures within the company; Identify opportunities to standardize finance processes and execute those opportunities
- Establish, track, and provide continuous development for the key financial reports and KPIs for the company and communicate/execute process improvement opportunities to senior management.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 10+ years of work experience in an accounting leadership role; public accounting and auditing experience preferred
- Minimum 5+ years in manufacturing, multi-site, multi-geo environment
- Ability to travel 20%
