What you will do:

The Brand Manager is responsible for managing and monitoring the YORK brand primarily for the Ducted Systems HVAC business unit. This individual will provide brand expertise to consult with marketing teams globally on correct usage in materials and campaigns as directed by Johnson Controls. As a brand licensee, our business unit must adhere to brand guidelines provided by Johnson Controls on a global scale. The Brand Manager will report to the Director of Marketing for Johnson Controls Residential & Light Commercial business, Americas.

How you will do it:

  • Manage the use of YORK licensed mark in accordance with the brand guidelines

  • Lead and manage the development of key and strategic brand projects to ensure alignment with company and brand objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a cohesive and comprehensive brand strategy that integrates all aspects of the brand, including marketing, web presence, and consumer experience for YORK and other brands.

  • Consult on content creation to enhance the brand image of YORK, aiming to deepen the understanding of the brand.

  • Drive the implementation of the YORK Brand Building plan, increasing brand visibility as a premium player in the HVAC technology category. Consult on brand campaign strategy focused on raising awareness and consideration.

  • Develop approaches to elevate the high-performance branding culture within YORK and gain a better understanding of our customers to gain insights that will help address YORK projects accurately and differentiate from the competition.

  • Ensure global consistency in brand messaging and identity through the development of strategies that can be effectively localized.

  • Execute global brand management functions, including:

    • Manage sublicense agreements

    • Reporting and payment of royalties

    • Management of the display of Licensed Marks by Resellers and authorized OEM's

    • Reporting of the licensee's plan for investigation of the causes of, and remediation of, problems notified by JCI and implementation of a plan

    • Cooperation with JCI's inspections, self-inspections, and compliance audit

    • Notification of any third-party infringement and cooperation in JCI's enforcement actions

What we look for:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combined education and experience.

  • 5+ years related business experience with several years in brand management.

  • Demonstrated track record of strong leadership. Excellent communication skills and creativity are critical.

  • Must be able to collaborate and influence in a matrix environment to effectively balance business, regional and functional priorities for win-win results.

  • Ability to collaborate and work internationally is required.

  • Ability to travel domestically, 10%.

  • Excellent English language communications skills - written and verbal.

Preferred Experience

  • Global B2B/equipment/OEM brand experience.

  • Experience with managing brand licenses and working closely with authorized dealers/distributors.

  • Familiarity with brand tracking tools and global market research.

My experience includes product marketing, trade shows and events, social media marketing, marketing campaigns, budget management, digital marketing, PR management, international marketing launches, and team management.
