As our Intake Coordinator, you'll be providing detailed customer service to patients, providers and clinic staff regarding pre-service, concurrent and post-service requests with documentation in appropriate systems or databases. This role will also work within the NCQA requirements for completion and turn-around times for requests and cases and facilitate adherence to processes, entering authorizations that do not require medical review according to departmental policies.

    Full-time, remote work environment available
  • Work schedule an 8-hour schedule between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday
  • Starting pay range: $20.72 - $25\hr.


Responsibilities

  • Enters referrals into the system in a timely and accurate manner. Verifies submitted requests are complete and accurate; requests additional information.
  • Provides appropriate notification to clinical staff of all requests and hospitalizations requiring further review.
  • Processes approval determinations according to written protocols and guidelines as appropriate. Refers any medical questions or potential denial determinations to clinical staff for further review.
  • Provides first line review of incoming pended claims, researches necessary claim information and consults with appropriate team members to determine a solution.
  • Provides telephone customer service for members, providers and other Health System or Quartz staff regarding authorization requests, network provider options, hospitalizations and claims questions.
  • Documents detail of incoming/outgoing calls and tasks to other staff/teams.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 + years' experience working in the healthcare or health plan environment.
  • Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Office, and/or Epic.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Previous experience in medical field or health plan preferred.
  • Great attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Basic to intermediate MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
