The UCLA Health Workplace Violence Prevention (WPVP) Program Manager is responsible for oversight of the WPVP program throughout UCLA Health ambulatory sites; providing expert knowledge and skills in applying and interpreting state, federal and local regulations. The Workplace Violence Prevention Program Manager will have strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including advanced political acumen and skill to effectively communicate with diverse constituencies. The WPVP Program manager will have advanced skills in effectively representing the organization to state and federal authorities, and community groups. They will have advanced analytical and organizational skills to organize, prioritize and manage the WPVP program and all related incident reports, including but not limited to, follow-up and reporting requirements to the state for incidents of WPV in ambulatory settings. The Workplace Violence Prevention Program Manager is responsible for data collection related to WPV incidents, analysis of data to determine trends and mitigate the likelihood of future incidents and reporting of that data to various workgroups and committees.

The WPV Program Manager will apply expert investigative methods to follow up on incident reports and ensure timely regulatory reporting and follow up on corrective action. Coach, counsel and train UCLA Health managers and employees in WPVP, enhancing awareness, problem solving and planning.

Salary Range: 92,600-202,200

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Human Resources, Security, Behavioral Health, Law Enforcement), or an equivalent combination of education and experience



  • Demonstrated experience implementing and upholding workplace violence prevention (WPVP) practices, policies, and procedures



  • Proven experience conducting workplace investigations, including prior training in employee-related incident investigations



  • Strong ability to convey facts, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations in a clear, concise manner



  • Demonstrated analytical skills to objectively assess complex problems and develop innovative, logical solutions



  • Proven writing skills to produce publishable reports, procedures, and presentations that are clear and well organized



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook



  • Effective oral communication and presentation skills, with the ability to persuade and inform individuals and groups



  • Ability to work effectively and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds, promoting fairness and equity



  • Knowledge of federal and state laws related to public employment and WPVP compliance



  • Familiarity with the roles and processes of administrative agencies, including EEOC, DFEH, OFCCP, OCR, and the U.S. Department of Labor



  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management and WPVP program development/management



  • Minimum 3 years of experience in program development and implementation



  • At least 3 years of experience in violence training and awareness, preferably in a healthcare security setting



  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion



  • Must possess or obtain a valid California driver's license within 3 months of hire and participate in the DMV Pull Notice Program



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working in a healthcare or hospital environment



  • Knowledge of UC and UCLA Health personnel policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements



  • Familiarity with UC-specific WPVP policies, practices, and regulations



  • Understanding of security best practices and standards, with the ability to represent the organization to regulatory bodies and community partners



  • Advanced organizational and analytical skills to manage multiple projects within scope, timeline, and budget



  • At least 3 years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in business, healthcare administration, safety, public health, or public administration



  • Broad knowledge of UC system HR policies and administrative processes



  • Specialized training or certification in diffusing assaultive behavior (e.g., Managing Assaultive Behavior, Crisis Prevention Institute, AVADE)



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and effective follow-up with employees and managers



  • Experience facilitating group trainings, meetings, or educational sessions



  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and stay organized



  • Instructor certification in workplace violence or security-related training (e.g., PSP and/or CPP from ASIS, McAfee Institute, CPI, etc.)



  • Master's degree in Political Science, Security Studies, Applied Intelligence, Business/Public Administration, Security Management, or a related field
