Your Role in Our Success As PFERD as a Production Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring high-performance execution of plant production activities across multiple shifts and/or departments to produce products that meet established quality, customer service, safety, innovation, and cost metrics consistent with schedules and policies. Drive continuous improvement in all areas of Manufacturing and provide leadership to supervisors and employees to ensure they have the proper tools to perform their jobs safely and efficiently. What you will do
- Oversee all aspects of manufacturing, including final assembly processes
- Manage all Production Shift Supervisors / Technical Support Supervisor
- Provides leadership, guidance, and support in all areas concerning production, scheduling, quality issues and employee relations
- Assess employees' capabilities and lead/develop an overall training program for employees in all aspects of equipment, material, quality requirements, safety, paperwork, and processes to ensure employees are properly trained in all aspects of their job
- Actively participates in the site's safety and quality management programs, in coordination with the Quality & Safety Manager.
- Promotes and Participates in Lean Manufacturing practices such as Six Sigma.
- Prepares and reviews any and all production, safety, and quality reports. Develops action plans with team members as needed for problem resolution.
- Establishes and implements improvements for cost reduction, quality assurance, and production in coordination with the Director of Operation.
- Works with employees to get their input for problem resolution to production issues/efficiencies utilizing problem-solving tools and skills as needed.
- Reviewing Key Performance Indicators (Daily, Weekly, and Monthly) to ensure the facility is on track to meet overall departmental objectives and maintain productivity goals.
- Meets with Planning and Operations team members to discuss production schedules and changes in the schedule that are needed.
- Works with supervisors to ensure vacancies are covered for vacations or any absences related to fulfilling production schedule requirements.
- Implements proactive and corrective maintenance practices relating to all production equipment. This includes scheduling any production line maintenance (major or minor) as needed.
- Ensures production is meeting the cycle time requirements to meet throughput objectives.
- Makes decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules in order to attain operational objectives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What you will need
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, and/or process improvement roles including managing teams of people or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree.
- ability to flex hours/schedule based on the needs of the business
- Previous experience working in a Lean environment for manufacturing/assembling metal parts
- Strong understanding of mechanical and automation equipment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP
- Speed, resourcefulness, team player with a go-getter attitude
- Ability to remain flexible in an ever-changing environment with great time management skills
- Strong desire to contribute to a team with a relentless pursuit to win
