The Role:

As the Senior Director of the Cardiac Service Line, you will be the visionary force behind our cardiac care delivery system. Your role involves leading the strategic direction and operational management of ambulatory clinics and ensuring efficient, high-quality, patient-focused care across all settings. Situated within the Providence Core Values and Leadership Model, you'll foster strong relationships with stakeholders to promote compassionate care and dedicated teams throughout the healthcare delivery system. Collaborate with other divisions and teams, making strategic decisions and managing resources to achieve organizational goals. Partner with the Lead Physician for the International Heart Institute and other physician leaders in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and vascular surgery for strategy development, execution, and performance oversight.

What You'll Do:



  • Strategic Visionary: Provide leadership for strategic planning, clinical excellence, fiscal accountability, patient satisfaction, and operational effectiveness. Cultivate positive relationships with departments, medical staff, physician practices, and stakeholders within your scope of control.
  • Performance Architect: Develop financial, clinical, and service performance measures across the delivery system. Lead quality improvement initiatives by collaborating with PMG physicians and aligned medical staff.
  • Relationship Builder: Develop and maintain productive working relationships with key constituents inside and outside the organization.
  • High-Performance Leader: Gain trust and build cohesive, high-performing work groups. Set high standards and accountability for continuous improvement and model the organization's Mission and Values.
  • Strategic Manager: Execute organizational strategy by prioritizing tasks, resources, and accountabilities with a customer-focused approach. Analyze financial and industry data to maximize strategy impact on market share.
  • Innovative Influencer: Encourage acceptance and execution of the organization's vision and values, aligning work group performance with organizational paradigms.
  • Alliance Builder: Pursue opportunities to establish beneficial relationships with strategic partners, enhancing competitive advantage.
  • Clinical Care Transformer: Achieve clinical outcome targets and implement improvements across the care continuum, including palliative care and patient satisfaction initiatives.
  • Physician Collaborator: Enhance alignment and collaboration with physicians and clinicians to develop and improve care delivery models.
  • Reimbursement Pioneer: Thrive under new models by reducing expenses and implementing high reliability processes.
  • Access Enhancer: Improve affordability and employee satisfaction through strategic expense reduction.
  • Growth Strategist: Aggressively pursue growth to meet community needs through coordination with regional organizations and robust representation.
  • Service Innovator: Develop and coordinate outreach service strategies, represent service lines on key committees, and establish strong, collaborative relationships across the continuum.


What You'll Bring:



  • Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Health Administration, or related field; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5 years of progressively responsible experience and 3 years of management experience; hospital or clinical experience preferred.
  • Business Acumen: Proficient in using financial, market, and industry data to drive business results. Strong understanding of major business functions and industry trends.
  • Technical Expertise: Familiarity with clinical skills, basic software applications, financial management, and healthcare industry compliance.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability in coaching, performance management, driving results, team building, and managing organizational change.
  • Strategic Decision Making: Ability to obtain information, identify key issues, and develop alternatives to achieve long-range goals.
  • Relationship Management: Skilled in interacting with diverse people, managing multiple functions, and sustaining growth under cost constraints.
