We are currently seeking an HR professional to join our Benefits team! Our Benefits Administrators are crucial supporters to our plan participants; they provide customer service to our plan participants while administering employee benefit programs.

What You'll Do

As a Benefits Administrator, you will:

  • Serve as a customer service liaison with plan participants and administrative service providers to assist with benefits enrollment, life events, claims issues, premium payments and administration in accordance with plan provisions.

  • Perform ongoing administration of the various benefit plans including data input/verification, eligibility audits, processing of changes and coordination of benefit enrollments. Participate in various systems testing.

  • Assist in the implementation and communication of benefits administration practices and procedures.

  • Assist with enrollment and administration of retiree benefits including retiree health, dental, vision and life insurance.

  • Administer the Sentry 401k Plan including loan activation/collection/default, form processing/approval, employee counseling, company match calculation, monitoring of legal limits, etc.

  • Provide counsel and guidance to Sentry's 401K department (Plan Participation, Plan Services) with respect to plan provisions and impact on processing.

  • Calculate, develop and document statistics and information for Sentry Retirement Plan benefits using various plan formulas.

  • Assist with creating, reviewing and modifying various benefits materials and communications, such as development of new and/or updated content, various internal/external posts and collaborating with internal partners to promote benefit programs.

  • May assist with leave of absence coordination and communication with participants and vendors, including eligibility, benefit coordination and to ensure compliance with federal and/or state leaves and company leave programs.

What it Takes

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Previous experience in administering employee benefit plans and a good knowledge of ERISA and other federal or state regulations.

  • Communication, human relations and math skills.

  • Strong organizational, analytical and project coordination skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office products. Prior HR information systems experience helpful.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
