Duties, Responsibilities & Other

As Senior Traffic Engineer at KCI, you will oversee the successful execution of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and budgetary constraints. The Senior Traffic Engineer plays a crucial role in driving project success and maintaining client satisfaction through their expertise and leadership. Work with the Project Manager for successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

    Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work.
  • Prepare traffic engineering capacity analysis, knowledgeable with safety assessment, and identify intersection operational improvements.
  • Design and prepare construction drawings for traffic projects, including signals and ITS.
  • Apply a broad knowledge and good understanding of principles and practices of traffic engineering.
  • Solve traffic and engineering problems effectively, communicate clearly, and produce high-quality technical writing.
  • Demonstrate reliability, commitment to projects, initiative, and desire to advance knowledge of traffic engineering principles.
  • Effectively manage tasks and projects, including financial and administrative duties. Effectively communicate directly with clients.
  • Supervise staff.

Required Experience:

  • Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, PTV Vistro/Vissim, and/or HCS software is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NACTO standards.
  • Experience with Microstation.
  • Experience with intersection and roadway concept development. Texas DOT experience with standards and design process is a plus.
  • Experience preparing traffic impact studies.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Required:
* Bachelor's Degree in related field (AEC Industry)
* Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
* Proven experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring engineering projects.
* Proven experience in project management roles, with a track record of successful project delivery.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
* Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to construction management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
* Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:
* Master's Degree

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:
* Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
