As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, engineers, on the New Glenn Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) software team you will share in the team's impact on all aspects of design, develop, and testing of software used to "fly" rockets on mission operations without ever leaving the launchpad! You will frequently engage with other development teams from Avionics, Flight Operations, Ground Integration, BE-4 and BE-3 Engines, and many more. Every day, you will innovate to build the frameworks and tools needed to integrate various spaceflight systems with model simulations. Your expertise will directly contribute to building the automated platforms, hybrid cloud infrastructure, and tooling we need to launch New Glenn to Space!

For this specific role, your day-to-day activities will be split working on building next generation AI models and tools to advance New Glenn's Autonomy and working within the hardware in the loop lab to facilitate the integration of the HIL's ground, avionics hardware, and software systems. As a member on the software team, you will have input into the architecture and designs, implement and test required features and help verify all requirements have been met.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Training LLMs, neural nets, or other ML models
• Support AI development of your peers
• Develop software solutions for New Glenn's Hardware-in-the-Loop lab.
• Support integrations of the latest New Glenn ground systems and vehicle avionics
• Support milestones for payload tests, static fire tests, and launch prep

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in engineering
• 2+ years of experience with AI development including Neural Nets, LLMs, cv, optimizers, etc.
• Familiarity with Prompt Engineering
• Familiarity with Linux and other Unix-style operating systems
• Experience with higher-level programming languages such as Python, C/C++
• Experience coding against Restful APIs
• Strong software development skills and debugging
• Deep understanding of software engineering principles and design patterns
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience training LLMs, Neural Nets, ML models
• Experience assembling Agentic Workflows
• Knowledge of Automation Frameworks
• Knowledge of DevOps Systems
• Knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure
