Job Overview
The Sr Engineer, Cloud Hardware is responsible for designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting cloud hardware systems that support T-Mobile's computer, networking, and storage environments. This role integrates high-performance hardware solutions, including processors, storage systems, PCBAs, power systems, and networking equipment, ensuring scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency. The Senior Engineer works with internal teams and external vendors to enhance hardware performance, automate workflows, and improve cloud-hardware integration. Works on moderately complex assignments requiring technical judgment and initiative, normally receiving little instruction on daily work and general guidance on new assignments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design, development, and optimization of cloud hardware solutions, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Work on integrating cloud hardware components with software systems to enhance performance and scalability.
- Identify and resolve hardware-related performance issues, working with cross-functional teams to implement fixes.
- Develop automation scripts and workflows to streamline cloud hardware deployment and monitoring.
- Ensure hardware security best practices and compliance with T-Mobile's governance standards.
- Work with vendors and internal teams to improve hardware solutions and maintain performance standards.
- Support additional cloud and hardware-related initiatives as needed.
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Required)
- Master's/Advanced Degree Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Preferred)
- 4-7 years Experience in cloud hardware engineering, infrastructure support, or related technical fields. Required
- 4-7 years Hands-on experience working with server hardware components, including processors, storage, PCBAs, power systems, and networking equipment. Required
- 4-7 years Experience with hardware-software integration and troubleshooting cloud-hardware performance issues. Required
- 4-7 years Broader technical experience in cloud environments, automation, or vendor collaboration. Preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Cloud & Hardware Infrastructure Deep understanding of cloud and hardware systems, including computer, networking, and storage components. (Required)
- Hardware & Software Integration Strong ability to integrate cloud hardware with software systems for optimized performance. (Required)
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving Experience in diagnosing and resolving complex hardware performance issues. (Required)
- Collaboration & Vendor Coordination Works with internal teams and vendors to ensure cloud hardware solutions meet quality and performance standards. (Required)
- Security & Compliance Knowledge of hardware security principles and compliance standards. (Required)
- Process Improvement & Automation Develops automation solutions to optimize cloud hardware deployment and performance monitoring. (Required)

Base Pay Range: $108,000 - $194,700
Corporate Bonus Target: 15%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
