is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic in Monroe, LA to join a dynamic team. If you have experience with heavy equipment and diesel engines and are looking for a rewarding career with opportunities for growth, we want to hear from you!

Pay: $20-$28 per hour

Day shift Schedule

As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment and diesel engines. You'll also operate various pieces of heavy equipment, including rollers, shuttle buggies, front-end loaders, and pavers. Ensuring safe and efficient operation is key, and you'll maintain certifications required by DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.

Responsibilities



  • Meet with the Shop Manager to set daily goals and prioritize tasks
  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Use hydraulic jacks or hoists to access and repair mechanical units
  • Disassemble, inspect, and repair parts such as pistons, rods, valves, and gears
  • Overhaul or replace components like carburetors, generators, and starters
  • Rebuild and repair engines, transmissions, and other heavy equipment parts
  • Maintain equipment safety and cleanliness in compliance with safety procedures
  • Complete necessary paperwork and reports accurately
  • Operate and test machinery and vehicles after repairs



Requirements



  • Proven experience in heavy equipment and diesel engine repair
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently, adhering to DOT, OSHA, and company regulations
  • Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to perform general custodial work and maintain a clean work area
