We're seeking a Physical Security Specialist to be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and oversight of all physical security and surveillance systems across the bank's locations in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. This role will conduct site risk assessments, perform inspections, administer physical access, and ensure the ongoing health and effectiveness of the bank's physical security program. The position requires strong vendor management skills, after-hours response to alarm and robbery incidents, and the ability to produce and analyze security metrics and reports. Responsibilities:
- Administer physical access for Washington Trust sites, including card access, alarms and keys.
- Administer and oversee physical access controls, including management of access control systems, keys, alarm systems and vaults.
- Conduct site risk assessments and regular inspections of all bank locations to identify and mitigate physical security risks.
- Participate in the design and build process for new branch locations, ensuring security requirements are met.
- Respond to after-hours alarm issues.
- Oversee vendors who are responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of access control, alarm, and surveillance systems.
- Review and assemble monthly site security reports and produce a branch security scorecard for management.
- Develop, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and key risk indicators (KRIs) for the physical security program.
- Produce and review reports from access control and alarm systems for audit and compliance purposes.
- Field and process requests for surveillance footage review to support law enforcement and internal investigations.
- Maintain strong written and verbal communication with internal stakeholders, vendors, and law enforcement.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies related to physical security.
- Robbery response, which includes surveillance review, physical response to branch location, communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Preparation and presentation of robbery and physical security training.
- Participate and provide information for Audit and Examination Responses as required.
Requirement and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in physical security systems design, implementation, and maintenance, preferably in a financial services environment.
- Professional certification such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or PSP (Physical Security Professional) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with access control, alarm, and surveillance systems.
- Strong vendor management and oversight skills.
- Must possess strong independent management, organizational, technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; a writing sample will be requested.
- Intermediate ability with Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint
- Ability to travel within RI, MA, and CT as required.
- Availability for after-hours response to security incidents.
