Primary Purpose of Organization Unit |
The Office of Academic and Military Outreach (
AMO) coordinates and delivers college-wide student entry, support, and successful degree completion programs for all military-affiliated and off-campus/distance students. This unit provides strategic enrollment management and analyses of statistical data to enhance program growth to support the university's strategic goals related to military/veteran and off-campus distance learners; this includes marketing, recruitment, enrollment, retention, persistence, and completion. |
Primary Purpose of Position |
Responsible for the certification and award process of financial aid, tuition assistance and education benefits from initial enrollment through graduation for all military-affiliated students to include Active Duty, veterans, National Guard members, Reservists and family members. Assist in the service support to more than 1,100 military-affiliated students. |
Job Description |
The School Certifying Official will report directly to the Director of Academic & Military Outreach.
AMO provides service and support to more than 1,100 military-affiliated students. The School Certifying Official will primarily be responsible for benefit certification of education benefits from initial enrollment through graduation for all military-affiliated students to include Active Duty, veterans, National Guard members, Reservists and family members. Additionally the VA Certifying Official will assist in a broad range of military service procedures and projects as assigned by the Director or Assistant Director. |
Management Preference |
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, human services or a related field; previous experience working with military population managing military education benefits; familiarity with Department of Veterans Affairs VA education benefits. |
