Overview
Iron EagleX is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer/Software Architect to support a U.S. Government customer in extracting structured intelligence from raw data reports and government web portals. This role focuses on developing custom ontologies and knowledge graphs aligned with mission-specific risk attributes. The ideal candidate will have experience in data transformation, API development, and semantic modeling in high-security environments.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Analyze and process raw reports and unstructured data from government sources to extract entities, relationships, and other structured data elements.
- Design and implement robust, scalable data pipelines that enable the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of information from multiple government websites and content repositories.
- Develop and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs to expose structured intelligence to downstream applications and end users.
- Construct a domain-specific ontology that reflects the customer's risk posture and mission-critical taxonomies.
- Build and maintain a semantic knowledge graph using appropriate technologies (e.g., Node.js, React, Neo4j).
- Collaborate with analysts, software developers, and cybersecurity personnel to ensure the graph architecture aligns with operational requirements.
- Enforce data governance, validation, and quality assurance standards throughout the pipeline and knowledge base.
- Provide technical documentation, design diagrams, and architecture overviews as required for deliverables and briefings.
Job Duties
- Perform entity recognition, relationship mapping, and disambiguation using natural language processing (NLP) tools and rule-based methods.
- Integrate multiple data sources into a unified semantic framework, supporting both federated queries and real-time lookups.
- Implement access control models and metadata tagging consistent with customer classification protocols.
- Conduct continuous improvement on ontology models to reflect updated mission needs or regulatory changes.
- Deploy containerized services (Docker/Kubernetes) in cloud or on-premise environments.
- Work closely with DevSecOps engineers to integrate solutions into CI/CD pipelines.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in software engineering, data engineering, or enterprise architecture.
- Demonstrated experience with knowledge graph technologies (e.g., Node.js, React, Neo4j).
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or React.
- Familiarity with web scraping, automated content extraction, and structured document parsing.
- Experience developing APIs and working with frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Spring Boot.
- Proficiency with data modeling, JSON-LD, and schema standards.
Desired:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Semantic Technologies.
- Experience supporting U.S. Federal or DoD programs involving high-side data operations.
- Working knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture and data-centric security principles.
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Apache NiFi, and/or Kafka for event-driven architectures.
- Understanding of DoD data standards, DISA STIGs, and RMF compliance requirements.
