We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Shipping/Receiving team member to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing shipments in accordance with company and customer specifications, including pulling parts from pick lists, packing and crating orders, building kits, and attaching shipping instructions. You will also operate forklifts to move materials and assist with inventory audits and receiving tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Pulls parts from printed pick lists.
  • Packs and crates orders for shipment.
  • Assembles and packages kits for various customers.
  • Attaches shipping instructions to outgoing materials.
  • Performs daily safety inspection of department forklifts.
  • Safely operates industrial forklift truck to assist in loading or moving materials and products in the shipping department.
  • Inspects shipments for correct materials, packing, tagging, and handling instructions.
  • Completes inventory audits when necessary.
  • Cleans and organizes work area.
  • Assists with the receiving function as needed.



QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training and a High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in safely operating forklift equipment; ability to obtain and maintain a forklift driver's license.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment.
