Temple University's Environmental Health and Radiation Safety Department is searching for an Assistant Health and Safety Specialist, Occupational Safety.

Salary Range: $35,600 - $55,000 A variety of important factors are reviewed by HR when considering salary, including job duties, the applicant's education and experience, all relevant internal equity considerations, department budget, and funding source.
Position Description Reporting to the Assistant Director, Occupational Safety Officer, the Assistant Health and Safety Specialist, Occupational Safety provides technical and advisory support services for University and Health System-wide program areas, primarily occupational safety, but which may also include radiation safety, biological safety, chemical safety, industrial hygiene, hazardous waste management, and other safety-related programs. Provides support to ensure compliance with applicable standards, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in a related field of science, such as chemistry, biology, physics, occupational safety, or industrial hygiene, and at least two (2) years of directly related experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities *Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students. *Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to follow procedures precisely and document findings accurately. *Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and remain focused under pressure in a fast-paced work environment. *Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Preferred *Experience working in a health and safety-related field is a plus.
This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote); the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Departments
