V2X is growing! We have an opportunity for a collaborative and highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our Engineering team in Colorado Springs, CO supporting the COBRA DANE (CD) program.

Using our experience and expertise with high power radar systems, V2X delivers world-class Operations, Maintenance and Support (OM&S) and Depot and Sustainment (D&S) for the CD radar.

The Senior Systems Engineer will work within a multi-disciplined team of engineers providing guidance while supporting projects designed to improve supportability of the CD radar. As the Senior System Engineer, you will serve as a technical point of contact with the Customer's program office and other external stakeholders related to assigned projects. The Senior Systems Engineer works with the team to execute technical direction for assigned projects based on his or her technical experience in the relevant domain. Within this role the Senior Systems Engineer will help provide technical oversight and direction to the program's many Subcontractors to include writing the Subcontractor Statements of Work (SSOW), technical evaluation of proposals and technical reviews of subcontractor data deliveries.

The Senior Systems Engineer will assist in the integration and test events for CD's new transmitter groups and RF amplifiers. The ideal candidate will have prior RF and testing experience and a willingness to travel to the radar multiple times a year for integration events. The Senior Systems Engineer will have strong communication skills and will embrace modern development processes and techniques that improve product quality and team productivity. We are looking for engineers that enjoy a challenge and have a passion to support our Department of Defense (DoD) customers. The candidate must be familiar with the Systems Engineering lifecycle and have experience applying technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, processes, and techniques to solve problems.

The CD radar is a ground-based, computer-driven, L-band phased array radar located at Eareckson Air Station (AS) (EAS) on Shemya, Alaska (AK) operated under the United States Strategic Command and supported by US Space Force.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000

Required Skills:



  • Minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience in systems or hardware engineering
  • Experience performing systems engineering, analytical and problem-solving activities using structured problem-solving techniques
  • Experience working with multi-disciplined teams
  • Willingness to support occasional domestic travel (CONUS & Remote Alaska)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate to internal and external stakeholders
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook


Desired Skills:



  • Proficiency operating radio frequency (RF) and standard test equipment including spectrum and network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, noise figure meters, etc.
  • Experience writing Subcontractor Statements of Work (SSOW) and conducting technical evaluations of Subcontractor proposals
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting high voltage power supplies and RF systems, such as Radar, Electronic Warfare and/or radio
  • Experience with requirements development, integration, and test
  • Experience and familiarity with the CD system or other Ground-Based radar systems
  • Experience developing and managing technical baselines
  • Experience briefing (both written and oral) effectively to all levels of the organization, from peers to senior management
  • Experience leading technical Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and/or Trade Studies, performing Risk and Opportunity analyses, and tracking and mitigating risks
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools
  • Experience with mitigating hardware and software obsolescence issues
  • Experience using IBM DOORS Next Generation (DNG) and Rational Quality Manager (RQM) for requirements management and verification
  • Current DoD Secret clearance


Educational Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline
  • At least 5 years of related engineering experience in systems or hardware engineering
