Responsibilities

Join Our Team as the Health Information Services (HIS) Supervisor!

Are you ready to take the lead in shaping the future of health information management? We are seeking a dynamic Health Information Services (HIS) Supervisor to plan and direct the activities of our Health Information Services Department!

Your Mission: As the HIS Supervisor, you will be at the forefront of ensuring that our medical records systems are not just accurate, but also efficient and cutting-edge. You will recommend and implement innovative policies and methods that guarantee seamless filing, retrieval, and delivery of medical records.

Be a Change-Maker: Dive into the exciting world of electronic health records! You will actively participate in the implementation and ongoing optimization of our electronic health record systems, ensuring our integrated health system remains compliant with all laws, standards, and regulations, including those of 3rd party payers and The Joint Commission.

Empower and Educate: Your expertise will shine as you provide essential training to our staff on medical records topics, including documentation requirements and the release of information. You will be the guiding force that ensures our team is equipped with the knowledge they need to excel.

Lead with Impact: You will ensure timely and accurate reporting of data to our administrative and medical staff leaders, playing a crucial role in decision-making processes. Plus, you'll directly supervise the HIS Department staff and inpatient Unit Secretary staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Educational Foundation: A Bachelor's degree is required, along with knowledge of health information management practices, reflected by applicable credentials (RHIA or RHIT).

  • Leadership Experience: At least two years of medical records leadership experience is essential, with previous supervisory experience preferred.

  • Mental Health Expertise: Experience with inpatient and outpatient mental health programs is a plus!

  • Collaborative Spirit: You must possess the ability to work collaboratively with other supervisors and department leaders, including the General Counsel and Patient Advocate.

  • Supervisory Skills: Strong supervisory skills are required, along with the ability to assist department staff in completing their duties when needed.

  • Communication Proficiency: Exceptional written and oral communication skills are a must!

  • Discretion and Confidentiality: You will need to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of your work.

  • Organizational Skills: The ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple projects or activities is crucial.

  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and a general knowledge of electronic health records are required.

Pay Range for this position depending on education and experience: 60,327.00 - 70, 258.88 annually
