Job Summary: The Assistant Director is responsible for the administrative, clinical, and overall operations of the program, and more specifically supports this mission through providing direct daily management of the Education and Training Program team. Duties involved include ensuring regulatory compliance in the implementation of services, managing data collection and documentation, overseeing case management through supervising program staff , and ensuring that the agency and program mission is carried out within daily activities and support plans. Also maintaining records to demonstrate compliance with funding source requirments, and promoting relations with the community as well as referring programs and programs serving mutual clients. They will participate with the Director of CHES and interdisciplinary team members to set measurable outcome objectives for the program and staff, and provide information for the evaluation of staff. The Assistant Director encourages the program to provide services that helps its members maximize skills and realize potential. This is an exempt position. Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervision of assigned direct care staff to ensure daily operations of program activities and compliance to program schedules, Individual Service Plans, and standards of care.
- In the absence of the Director, oversees all program coordination and management, and provides supervision and training for all program staff.
Essential Functions of Position:
- Coordinates clinical, personnel and routine management concerns in the Education and Training team, including daily scheduling, as well as ensuring skill development and regulatory compliance. Provides emergency back-up to program staff as needed to make sure that staffing ratios and physical needs for program participants are met. Chairs bi-weekly staff meetings.
- Assists with the hiring and termination of direct care staff. Supervises, trains, and supports EECs and the Senior EEC in curriculum development, skill acquisition, data collection, implementation of objectives, and documentation progress.
- Facilitates assessments and meetings with program participants to develop ISP goals and objectives and to promote the development of self-determination and decision-making skills. Develops tools to record data.
- Develops and implements clinical and behavioral treatment plans. Provides guidance and leads the team in crisis assessment, prevention and needed intervention.
- Manages referral and admissions for assigned groups within the program, including completion of pre-admission documentation, setting up records, as well as organizes the composition and submission of the Severity profile.
- Ensures compliance with DDS and CARF regulations, program mission and standards. Ensures that programs are in compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws. Maintains ongoing communication with relevant state agency staff and funding sources in a positive and professional manner.
- Maintains accurate programmatic documentation such as emergency reports, transportation sheets, daily logs, progress notes, teaching programs, and any other documentation assigned by the Director.
- Performs operations duties as assigned, including ordering supplies; quality management reviews of records.
- Other duties and projects as assigned by the Director of CHES or Director of Day Services.
Requirements for the position:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology or other human services-related field with one year of experience supervising staff in a human services program.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of intellectual and other developmental disabilities and principles to promote skills development.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication, training, team leadership, and supervision skills
- Demonstrated management, organization, and documentation skills to perform assigned duties.
- Knowledge of computer and word processing, and use of Word and Excel software to create forms and documents.
- Has and maintains a valid MA driver's license.
- An acceptable CORI (criminal record) assessment.
- Ability to lift 30 pounds and assist people with mobility impairments as needed.
- Must obtain and maintain certification in CPR, Standard First Aid, MAP, and PREVENT and meet additional requirements for training as determined by program,
