Job Summary

As a Network Engineer III, you will take on a proactive role in managing and optimizing network systems. You will develop detailed plans for network expansions and upgrades, and you will collaborate with other departments to align network solutions with business objectives. Your role will involve leading projects, conducting assessments, and ensuring compliance with security policies.

Essential Functions

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Gather information about Jefferson's current network infrastructure, anticipated growth, and specific security and performance requirements
  • Develop network designs and architectures that meet these requirements
  • Create detailed network design documentation, including diagrams, configuration templates, and implementation plans
  • Develop and implement scripts and tools to automate network configuration tasks
  • Analyze current network usage, identify trends, and predict future needs to efficiently handle anticipated data loads
  • Implement and maintain wireless infrastructure
  • Perform regular testing and updates to network disaster recovery plans
  • Manage and maintain DNS, DHCP, and IP address management systems
  • Design, install, scale, configure and monitor the wide area networking links between the Jefferson network and the remote clinics and other sites as required
  • Manage load balancers and ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Design and implement TCP/IP and Ethernet connections between the core network and outlying sites
  • Upgrade the connectivity options to meet the needs of the enterprise
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends.
  • Mentor junior team members

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):

Ability to mentor junior team members

Good understanding of technology architecture

Good understanding of the Microsoft stack

Good understanding of healthcare technology landscape

Hands-on experience managing network architecture and security

Hands-on experience with infrastructure assessment & design

Hands-on experience in provisioning telecommunications services

Hands-on experience with TCP/IP and ethernet implementation
