Responsibilities

Service and clean assigned areas to ensure environmental service standards are met

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Perform EVS processes and frequency of cleaning expectations to follow daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cleaning schedules
  • Clean units including patient rooms, group rooms, offices, and common areas
  • Stock supplies and stock clean linens
  • Ensure all PrairieCare facilities are clean and well maintained, supplies are adequately stocked, and equipment is in working order
  • Manage inventory control for all supplies used within the department and order supplies as needed
  • Maintain safety throughout the facility by complying with Joint Commission standards, Infection Control Protocols, and PrairieCare policies
  • Serve as a preceptor for new staff
  • Ability to respond to emergencies effectively, including, but not limited to, clean up of blood and body fluid spills
  • Assist Supervisor with the Environmental Services schedule, assign/delegate projects, provide training on the use of cleaning products and equipment
  • After training, able to manage disruptive or explosive patients, with an emphasis on personal safety/protection
  • Ability to perform tasks following written directions and safety precautions, and to read and understand Infection Control Precaution signs to perform work within infection control expectations, including the use of personal protection equipment (PPE) when appropriate
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Thorough knowledge of Environmental Services procedures, generally gained through prior Environmental Service experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and CDC safety guidelines as they pertain to maintaining a clean and safe work environment preferred
  • Knowledge of various industrial cleaning machines preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Stong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and use supplies in a safe and cost effective manner
  • Ability to manage multiple dissimilar projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products preferred

Compensation for this role ranges from $16-21 per hour depending on education and experience.

An individual's pay rate within the posted range is determined by several factors, including skills, experience, education, and market conditions.
