Main Duties & Responsibilities
Job
Summary:
Plan, direct, control, and manage the programming team and activities
involved with CNC programming 2D and 3D models for tools, dies and production
parts through CNC mill, lathe, and laser operations using CAD/CAM
software. Help plan and drive tooling
requirements and improvements to increase output, improve quality and reduce
cost.
Principal
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop, evaluate, improve, and
document machining processes.
Improve quality and efficiency within
Operations and Manufacturing processes through Continuous Improvement
Initiatives.
Design and implement production
assembly fixtures and tooling.
Knowledge of machine codes to be able
to manually edit programs.
Implement best practices for machine
setup sheets and cut sheets.
Ability to clearly write or edit
technical documentation and assembly or process instructions.
Help trouble-shoot and drive root cause
analysis.
Work in both standalone and team environments
to discover and implement solutions.
Analytical problem solving on
manufacturing floor.
Working across our teams to ensure
alignment of schedules and activities.
Plan,
promote, and organize required training activities for all direct employees
to perform their assigned jobs effectively.
Create development plans for the team and provide constructive performance feedback.
Lead efforts from product and process
development though transition to production manufacturing.
Engage suppliers to ensure a smooth
interface between our development teams.
Assist operations teams to research and
resolve customer problems.
Facilitate communication between
management team and customers.
Conform to company safety policies and
procedures.
Other duties as needed
On-Site: This role is required to be on-site 5 days a week at the El Cajon, CA location.
Qualifications
Minimum
Education & Experience:
Must be able to define geometry from
blueprints and it applies to best practices for CNC programming.
5 -15 years of experience in related
field with 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing complex aerospace
components
Experience in metal processes (forming,
cutting, welding, etc.) - metallic structure manufacturing preferred.
Experience with creating and evaluating
3D models using SolidWorks (preferred) or other 3D CAD software
Must be able to read and interpret
blueprints and specifications.
Must have a good understanding of the
fundamental principles of programming, program development and
review.
Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of
management, shop personnel and customers.
Analytical problem solving, critical
thinking, and being hands on are a must.
Compensation
In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $123,000 - $128,000.
Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses. Further details will be provided by our recruiting team during the interview process.
