Overview:

Veeco is seeking a Network Engineer to join its' Infrastructure Operations team with deep knowledge of Cisco and Fortinet networking platforms. This position will play a critical role in maintaining and upgrading a corporate network spanning 20+ global sites in multiple countries and the public cloud with a heavily dispersed & remote workforce.

Responsibilities:



  • Develop strategy, technical direction, and engineering solutions for enterprise-wide networking initiatives supporting new or evolving business requirements
  • Provide technical solutions for the establishment and implementation of high availability networks supporting convergence of voice, data, multimedia services, and public cloud delivered applications
  • Support core network infrastructure between multiple data centers and geographical regions based on multiple routing protocols
  • Support end user connectivity to and from locations including remote connections (VPN)
  • Collaborate with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to understand business requirements, propose solutions, and provide updates on progress
  • Monitor and report on network performance and health
  • Define L1 and L2 troubleshooting steps for Veeco Client Services team to use in support of basic connectivity issues
  • Provide support for network issues
  • Refine and ensure compliance with defined Veeco infrastructure & security standards
  • Partner with the Veeco Security Operations team to proactively monitor and resolve security issues


  • Implement best practices, strategies, methodologies, and approaches to systems administration tasks and complex projects
  • Develop repeatable standards and implementation processes to ensure product uniformity and quality
  • Document, deploy, and improve new and existing infrastructure to continually improve Veeco's technology experience



Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field with 5+ years of experience working with networking products including routers, firewalls, switches, wireless, network access control and VPN's. 3+ years of experience with public cloud technology networking (AWS preferred). Cisco, Fortinet, or Meraki networking deployment and support experience gained within a large enterprise is required as is LAN/WAN troubleshooting skills, including knowledge of DHCP, DNS, BGP, OSPF, VPN, IPSEC, MPLS, NATs. An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.

  • Solid understanding of virtualization and network integration with virtual environments
  • Experience with network monitoring platforms
  • Experience with Meraki wireless applications & related policies a plus
  • Knowledge of Public Cloud network architectures for Azure and AWS
  • Relevant network certifications (Cisco, Fortinet, AWS preferred)


The expected salary range for this position is $89,700 - $114,000, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
