The Lead Certified Recovery Specialist (Lead CRS) serves as both the key point person of and a member of the care team providing services to a diverse population seeking or receiving outpatient services for substance use disorders (SUD) and complex medical and behavioral health conditions with recent interface with the acute care system at Jefferson. The Lead CRS will have oversight and responsibility for the clinical activities, professional development and support for all JAMS CRS.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Understand and delineate the role, duties and scope of practice of recovery specialists, care navigators and other members of the recovery care team.
  • Oversee and support the delivery of strength-based recovery approaches for all patients.
  • Oversee professional activities and development of all CRS, including, but not limited to:
    • Define scope of work and oversee delivery of top-of-license care by CRS and peer recovery support team members
    • Regular, uninterrupted supervision for recovery specialists
    • Support the professional and skills development of recovery specialists and other direct reports
    • Oversee, review and instruct team on documentation and billing best practices
  • In partnership with care team leaders, develop CRS support model for Jefferson Health
  • Partner with clinical teams to design, ensure and adjust location-specific workflows for CRS teams
  • Oversee and ensure tracking of patient data
  • Provide direct patient services as member of CRS team and as outlined in CRS position description
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION:

  • PA State License as a Certified Recovery Specialist required
  • Mental Health First Aid preferred

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lived experience as a consumer of SUD services required
  • Maintained a job or volunteer position for at least 12 months within the past three years or earned 24 post-secondary education credits required
  • Minimum of 3 years as CRS
