Experimentation Platform Development Team Lead

BE PART OF THE CONNECTION

As a Experimentation Platform Development Team Lead, you are responsible for leading the team in the design and implementation of the infrastructure and software solutions used in Charter's internal experimentation platform. You will build, deploy, and manage software solutions in a full stack environment (AWS components, MySQL databases, Redis, Prisma ORM, Node.js GraphQL APIs/services, and a Next.js React application) in accordance with program needs as part of the Distillery team. You will manage the day-to-day operations of a full-stack scrum development.

The Distillery team is responsible for expanding, maintaining, and supporting Charter's bespoke, enterprise-level experimentation and configuration management platform. The Distillery team facilitates experimentation and configuration management through a web-based GUI and supporting services that allow users to draft and deploy A/B tests, progressive deployments, and JSON configuration changes.

• Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

• Code and perform unit and integration testing of software to ensure proper and efficient execution while adhering to business and technical requirements.

• Code, test, debug, and enhance new and existing software. Write programs according to specifications.

• Define specifications for complex programs.

• Repair critical systems, and assist junior team members in monitoring and repairing systems.

• Participate in code review sessions to validate adherence with development standards.

• Develop technical documentation, and assist junior team members in technical documentation.

• Resolve escalated incidents and problems with software supported by the team.

• Generates reports.

• Provide management with system analysis, feedback, and improvement recommendations.

• Work with software architects identifying and recommending design and requirements needed for software enhancements.

• Maximize efficiency of various software systems by implementing, monitoring, testing, and auditing new software programs.

• Participate in performance improvement sessions discussing opportunities to improve processes and/or standards.

• Coordinate with technical teams to analyze and resolve software related problems causing operational issues, advising on specialized features and functions.

• Follow established configuration/change control processes.

• Collaborate with customers, and internal/external technical teams to identify software problems and communicate remediation plans.

• Mentor, coach, and assess workload of junior team members.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

• Extensive experience with open source/commercial databases (RDMS and NoSQL) and MQ technologies.

• Extensive experience working with DevOps engineers to build and deploy infrastructure with cloud deployment technologies.

• Extensive experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.

• Strong experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.

• Capable of independently delivering on multiple competing priorities.

• Extensive experience with infrastructure automation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Extensive experience with build automation technologies (GitLab runners, AWS deployment pipelines).
• Extensive experience with monitoring technologies (Datadog, Splunk).
• Extensive experience with programming languages (TypeScript/JavaScript, Python).

• Extensive experience with building APIs and services using prevailing design models (REST, GraphQL).

• Extensive experience with scripting languages (Shell).

• Extensive experience with software security principles and patterns.

• Ability to collaborate with and contribute to a common culture of excellence.

• Extensive experience with AWS.

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent experience primarily focused on React, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and GraphQL
• Strong experience with AWS and MySQL
• Familiarity with Nest.js, Elasticache, Redis, Prisma, DataDog, Splunk, Rancher, Kubernetes, Docker, Apache Superset, Python, Java, GitLab
• Professional experience developing and maintaining configuration management and statistical testing platforms
• Professional trackrecord of 5 9's up-time for all critical path services
