GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this position is to coordinate the day-to-day functions of the maintenance department, ensuring the reliability of plant assets through preventative maintenance and productivity improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Monitors work order requests for the department and schedules daily work for maintenance employees accordingly.
  • Maintains working knowledge of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS system)
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining the facilities and maintenance preventative maintenance program, including tracking equipment, identifying the most proactive and efficient means to coordinate and schedule tasks and repairs, and scheduling the tasks and repairs accordingly.
  • Completes a monthly 5S audit of the maintenance department and maintains a Top 5 continuous improvement movement.
  • Makes safety a priority and performs all tasks while maintaining safety standards. Completes safety audits tied to Leadership teams' expectations.
  • Establishes and maintains a reliable network of outside vendors and suppliers to ensure cost effective and timely support of the maintenance function.
  • Coordinates outside contractors to assist with maintenance needs as required, including, choosing the appropriate vendor for the task, communicating the work requirements, scheduling the maintenance and picking up parts and other ordered items as required.
  • Ensure parts, materials and supplies are ordered in a timely manner.
  • Assists with the preparation of Standard Work Instructions for Facilities and maintenance tasks.
  • Uses the CMMS system to enter and manage work orders.
  • With oversight and direction from the Safety department, serves as the plant point person for receiving and disposing of hazardous materials
  • Continually and actively seeks to learn new skills and progress in level of knowledge and responsibility.
  • Actively looks for ways to improve processes, reduce errors, increase efficiencies and create cost savings.
  • Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED



  • High school diploma required.
  • Ability to legally operate a company vehicle on public roadways.
  • 1-3 years of previous experience in a facilities maintenance and/or building trades industry.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Previous experience utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS system) is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret job specifications, user manuals and maintenance code requirements.
  • Proficient communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations and develop effective courses of action where problems are somewhat complex.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain focus, objectivity and composure in a rapidly changing work environment.
  • Ability to work independently, displaying a high level of initiative and attention to detail.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



  • Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs, occasionally.
  • Physically able to push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl and use hands/forearms repetitively and frequently.
  • Ability to move around for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages and man lifts at various heights frequently.

  • Moderate to high exposure to production environment.
  • Wet, hot, humid, and wintry conditions (weather related) (plant specific)
