This role is a hybrid position
This position is considered hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote work and in-office collaboration. Qualified applicants must either (i) live within commuting distance of our Boston, MA office location and should expect to be in office approximately 2 or 3 days per week, or (ii) live in the Massachusetts region and should expect to be in the Boston, MA office location approximately 2 or 3 days per month.

As a Senior Analyst on the Operations Finance team, you will play a key role in forecasting, reporting, and analyzing gross margin performance. This includes ownership of all inventory-related accounts and cost of goods sold (COGS) transactions. In addition to owning month-end reporting for designated areas, this position will serve as a trusted business partner to our supply chain organization and collaborate cross-functionally to support business planning and strategic decision-making.

Involvement in the quarterly forecasting process, KPI tracking and business case support is also required. This position requires a deep understanding of GAAP accounting principles, clear communication with key partners across multiple geographies, attention to detail, and a process improvement and efficiency mindset. This position reports to the Manager, Finance Operations.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain and reconcile accurate inventory accounts and COGS-related records on a monthly basis.

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis; document and explain variances with relevant stakeholders.

  • Prepare inventory-related provisions in compliance with SOX controls.

  • Identify, propose, and implement inventory process improvements, particularly within SAP.

  • Analyze purchase price variances (PPV).

  • Support system implementations and upgrades through design input, testing, and go-live activities.

  • Participate in ad-hoc and scheduled inventory counts; oversee the cycle count program as needed.

  • Contribute to quarterly and annual financial forecasts in partnership with the Operations Finance team.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on initiatives impacting inventory and corporate accounting.

  • Develop and maintain internal policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documentation.

  • Assist with onboarding and mentoring of new team members.

  • Monitor and help implement new accounting standards as applicable.

  • Ensure proper execution and documentation of SOX controls related to inventory and COGS.

  • Participate in or lead ad hoc projects to support key business partners.

What You'll Need

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of general ledger and/or inventory accounting experience (a combination of public accounting and industry experience is preferred).

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • Experience working with large ERP systems (SAP experience preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting principles.

  • Advanced Excel proficiency.

  • Proven experience in project management and process improvement.

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity or interest in automation tools (e.g., Alteryx) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.

The base pay range for this role based off geographic location is:

$86,000 and $107,000

The specific pay offered will depend on the candidate's geographic location, as well as qualifications and experience. We apply geographic pay differentials based on the cost of labor in the market. Employees in high-cost locations may be compensated at the upper end of the range, while those in medium or low cost markets may be compensated at the lower end of the range. Your recruiter can provide more details about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
