Job Summary

The Sr. Systems Engineer will assist in the development and implementation of system strategies and technology roadmaps across the Harley-Davidson vehicle portfolio. In addition, the engineer will create and manage a "virtual shelf" of proven technologies, components and systems that support the long-range system strategies to ensure world-class product quality. This position will lead engagement with projects as an expert consultant providing key information and guidance throughout project execution.

Job Responsibilities

  • Solves complex problems and provides powertrain structural analysis that conforms to established analytical guidelines, standardized work, and standardized tools.
  • Demonstrates in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in analysis techniques and related applications.
  • Acts as a resource and Subject Matter Expert to support new and current product teams with analysis results.
  • Supports simulation and innovation projects and methods development.
  • Ability to apply best practices to create and lead projects that are specifically directed at improving vehicle quality in an effort to meet or exceed the platform quality targets.
  • Demonstrates competence in project development and management.

Bachelor's Degree Required
Education Specifications

  • This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical Degree.
    Master's Degree in Engineering Preferred.

Experience Requirements

Required



  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to test data for quality and can present data using basic charts & plots.
  • Demonstrated thorough understanding of data acquisition systems and techniques through successful execution of testing projects.
  • Demonstrated skill in developing basic testing strategies for powertrain and/or vehicle systems.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of test equipment and data analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead development projects independently and has a proven track record of success in delivering compliant solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of evaluating drivability concerns and diagnose potential causes and provide resolutions.
  • Proven track record of consistently delivering powertrain calibrations.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
